Santa Clara Sporting Men's Team Win Back-to-Back Peninsula League Championships

Santa Clara Sporting claimed their 2nd consecutive title as they ran away with the Majors Division going 17-1-0. Their two-year record shows total dominance as they have gone 29-2-1 with 137 goals scored while only giving up 31. They came on strong after an early season loss, and overpowered their opponents. They will remain as the team to beat in the Division for the coming seasons.

SSFAC came back to earth somewhat after posting a 7 win 1st round of the season, but they did just enough in the back half of the schedule to secure a 2nd place finish. A very positive year for the team in their 1st full season in Majors. Gordon Biersch came up with a 6 game winning streak late in the season to move into the 3rd position, while PCC put together a solid 2nd half run to finish 4th. Palo Alto SC & Harmonie played some of their best soccer in round two as they made challenges for the top spots. CLC Sporting also finished the season on a positive note as they played some of their best games late in the season. Shaheen, Club Sport Maritimo & Outsiderz FC battled hard each match and proved to be very difficult opponents as they brought their best efforts each and every week.

This was a very competitive division and the games each week provided quality soccer for the entire 2013-14 season.
