Sporting 00B White Team win Santa Clara Rotary Cup

The Santa Clara Sporting ’00 Boys White Team won the 2012 Santa Clara Rotary Cup Tournament on August 18th-19th. The Sporting boys played some great soccer over the weekend going undefeated in group play. During the first game, Sporting fall behind when the Folsom Crew scored a goal after Santa Clara lost one of their key players with a broken wrist just two minutes after kick-off. Santa Clara responded and scored 3 goals in the second half to pull out the first win of the weekend. In their second game against the Kaos Rampage Team, Santa Clara showed their resilience once again when they fell behind 0-2 at the end of the first half. Once again, Sporting came out and scored 4 goals to win the game 4-2. OnSunday, they ended group play with dominating a 6-0 win against the Roseville Siege Team. Sporting ended-up in a rematch against the Folsom Crew Team in the championship game. Sporting scored a goal in the first half and then Folsom equalized the game 1-1 before half-time. The second half was hard fought by both teams until Santa Clara scored their second goal and won the championship 2-1. Congratulations to the players, coaches and parents.
