Congratulations to the Sporting ’98B White Team for winning the 2009 Soccer-By -the Bay Tournament’s Bronze Division U11 Championship on August 22nd-23rd.  The team went undefeated shutting out the Alpine Badgers 4-0 and the San Carlos Typhoon 2-0 on Saturday.  On Sunday they landed into the Championship game by defeating the Peninsula Lions 2-1.  The boys were fired up for the Championship game against the Gryphon 98 Blue team.  A hard fought battle ended with a tie of 2-2 sending the teams into two 5 minute over times where the score remained at 2-2.  Sporting never gave up and rallied in a PK shootout with goalkeeper Taylor LeTourneau blocking two shots to help the team win the shootout.

This weekend was all about teamwork - with great passing and a solid defense, the entire team contributed to winning the tournament!  Many thanks go out to the Sporting Club, our coaches, and supportive parents!
