      <title>Sporting 95B Green Four-Peat at State Cup</title>

        <![CDATA[<p><img alt="" width="700" height="497" src="http://www.santaclarasporting.com/imgs/news/2012Spring/541311_3913912925122_1198395018_3874489_1905144793_n.jpg" /></p><p>May 29, 2012</p><p>Congratulations to the Santa Clara Sporting 95 Boys Green Team for their major accomplishment with a Four-Peat victory at the CYSA State Cup Championship today in Elk Grove.&nbsp; The team has now won the State Cup title from U12-U16 and look to continue their histroric run next year. The team won seven games starting back on March 24th when they opened-up the tournament and one their first bracket game 3-1 over Lamorinda FC. Later that afternoon they beat Palo Alto 06B White 3-0, and finished bracket play with a 2-0 defeat over San Carlos United Clash.&nbsp; The team smashed the Vallejo United team 6-0 in Quarterfinals, and demolished Almaden Real 95B 7-2 to set-up the championship game. Today they played with great posession and control of the match to defeat Redwood MRFC Liverpool by a score of 2-0.&nbsp; Congratulations to Coach Demitri and Coach Javier, and all the players and parents. The team will travel to Minnesota in June to compete in the <a href="http://santaclarasporting.com/news/2011Fall/545536.html">USA Cup</a>, then compete at the Far West Regional Tournament in Pheonix, Arizona in late June with the Santa Clara Sporting 94 and 92 Teams.</p>]]>

      <title>Sporting 94 Boys end as State Cup Finalist</title>

        <![CDATA[<p><img width="700" height="471" alt="" src="http://www.santaclarasporting.com/imgs/news/2012Spring/DSC00260.JPG" /></p><p>April 29, 2012</p><p>The Santa Clara Sporting 94 Boys finished the U17 CYSA State Cup run as Finalists after loosing a tough battle 0-1 against the PAC Tigres team today in Elk Grove, but they also qualified for the Far West Regional Tournament in Pheonix, Arizona held June 18th-24th when they received a wildcard berth. The team had a delayed start to their State Cup run due to the late winter storms that hit Northern California.</p><p><img width="700" height="524" alt="" src="http://www.santaclarasporting.com/imgs/news/2012Spring/DSC_4217.JPG" /></p><p>The team played their first game on March 31st against the Alum Rock Toritos and drew a 0-0 score while playing in the rain on a muddy field at Cherry Island. The clouds cleared on the next day and the team crushed the Oakdale United Team 6-0 and beat PAC Brasil 2-0. They had a very tough Quarterfinal game against the Central Valley SJFC Dynamo 94 Red Team and won 2-1 in the 94th minute of overtime. Santa Clara ran over the Mission SF Gims 8-0 in the Semi-final match last Sunday in Cherry Island. And today they played a tough game against the PAC Tigres but came-up short. Sporting had some dangerous scoring chances but could not put the ball in the back of the Tigres net, and their cross-town rivals scored the lone goal on a quick counter-attack.</p><p><img width="700" height="525" alt="" src="http://www.santaclarasporting.com/imgs/news/2012Spring/DSC_4203.JPG" /></p><p>The team will next play at the SJFC College Showcase on May 12th-13th in Morgan Hill, then the Placer Tournament over Memorial Weekend. In June they will compete at the Far West Regionals, then head to Surf Cup in July.</p>]]>

        <![CDATA[<p><img width="622" height="436" alt="" src="http://www.santaclarasporting.com/imgs/news/2012Spring/401715_373046849412871_100001226781687_1122302_961900750_n.jpg" /></p><p>April 29, 2012</p><p>Congratulations to the Santa Clara Sporting 92 Boys Team for winning the U19 CYSA State Cup Championship today in Elk Grove. They also qualify for the Far West Regional Tournament that will be held June 18-24th in Pheonix, Arizona along with the Sporting 95 and Sporting 94 boys teams. This is the second state cup title for the 92 Boys Team.</p><p>Santa Clara had a short but intense State Cup tournament with one set of bracket games that went straight away to Semi-final games and the State Championship.&nbsp; Sporting tied their first game 1-1 against the Palo Alto 93B Blue Team, then tied Redwood Juventus Black 93 team 0-0, then beat Oakdale United 2-0 in the semis. Today's championship game was a rematch against Palo Alto, and both teams played in some pretty intense heat when the game started at 2pm in Elk Grove.&nbsp; Neither team could score during regulation, and the deadlock was broken when Santa Clara scored the winning golden goal in overtime.</p>]]>

      <title>Sporting 94s go Undefeated &amp; Win SJFC College Showcase Tournament</title>

        <![CDATA[<p><img width="700" height="554" alt="" src="http://www.santaclarasporting.com/imgs/news/2012Spring/DSC3665-L.jpg" /></p><p>May 14, 2012</p><p>The <a target="_blank" href="http://scsporting94.wordpress.com/">Santa Clara Sporting 94</a> boys team were the only team to go undefeated last weekend and <a href="https://events.gotsport.com/(S(sbkhnxiuv4cffuzgfjjnn4qr))/events/results.aspx?EventID=24432&amp;Sex=Boys&amp;Age=17" target="_blank">won the U17 age group in the 2012 San Jose FC College Showcase</a>. Sporting &lsquo;s first game was a rematch of their CYSA State Cup Semi-final game against the Central Valley Dynamos 94 Team. This time Santa Clara dominated the game with a convincing 4-0 win and the Sporting defense shut-out Central Valley limiting them to only a few shots on goals.Sporting won their second game 2-1 over a dangerous and reckless Diablo 94 Team who ended the game with two red cards and 3-4 yellow cards, but Diablo sent one Sporting player to the hospital with a broken nose. And on Sunday&rsquo;s game, Santa Clara defeated the Manteca Boca Team 1-0 in an intense&nbsp;high pace game with Manteca receiving one red card and multiple yellow cards for dangerous play.</p><p>Coaches from Santa Clara University, UC Davis, Stanford, University of Portland, Cal-State Monterey Bay and Menlo College were on-hand scouting players. Five Santa Clara Sporting players were selected to the Sunday afternoon All-Star game.</p><p>Santa Clara will compete in the up-coming Placer Tournament on Memorial weekend,&nbsp;travel to Pheonix, Arizona and compete in the&nbsp;Far West Regional Tournament late June, then Surf Cup at the end of July.</p>]]>

        <![CDATA[<p><img width="450" height="369" alt="" src="http://www.santaclarasporting.com/imgs/news/2012Spring/SCS99Gwhite_PresCup.jpg" /></p><p>February 14, 2012</p><p>Congratulations to the Santa Clara Sporting 99Girls White Team for winning the 2011-12 <a target="_blank" href="http://www.t7sports.com:8080/2005/k153805.htm">U12 Girls CYSA President's Cup Tournament </a>on February 12th with a 2-1 victory over the Redwood Alpine Strikers 99 Red Team.&nbsp; The Sporting girls competed in 5 games over the past month when they played their first game in Morgan Hill and beat the CV Crossfire 99 Red Team 2-0. The girls won their second game 1-0 against the Mad River Johnson team, then lost to Redwood Alpine Strikers 99 Red. Santa Clara won their bracket play and traveled to Elk Grove to face the PYSL Roseville Zoom team, and won that semi-final match 1-0. That victory created a rematch against the Redwood Alpine Strikers in the U12 Girls Finals where Santa Clara defeated Alpine to bring home the President's Cup.       <title>Goals for a Cure Donates $30,000 to El Camino Hospital to fight breast cancer</title>

The Santa Clara Sporting Club has now raised over $94,000 since Goals for a Cure since 2008.&nbsp; Santa Clara Sporting President, Sebastian Goncalves, the Sporting 95 Boys White Team and Cecelia Hinz attended to&nbsp;hand the $30,000 check to Lea Morgan from El Camino Hospital. The Santa Claea Sporting 95 Boys White Team raised over $3,000 last October, and Cecelia Hinz raised over $1,000 on her own to lead the club&rsquo;s fundraising efforts.</p><p><img alt="" width="700" height="463" src="http://www.santaclarasporting.com/imgs/news/2012Spring/DSC_3667.JPG" /></p><p><a target="_blank" href="http://www.matteostudios.com/">Matteo Studios</a> and the Santa Clara Sporting Club launched <strong>Goals-for-a-Cure</strong> during the month of October 2008, to raise awareness and money to fight breast cancer. All Santa Clara Sporting Teams participate in a Goal-A-Thon Fundraiser during the month of October, and the club raised over $94,000 to fight breast cancer between 2008-2011. The 93B Team are in <a target="_blank" href="http://www.dallascup.com/schedules/XXXIII/38684625.html">Bracket A</a> with the Manchester United Academy Team, the Tigres Academy Team, and the FC Dallas Academy Team.
